LIFE GROUP Discussion Guide

The Best Reasons not to Believe: A Loving God would not send People to Hell  Revelation 20:11-15 ADBC 3-19/20-17

Note to Leaders: Every small group is different, so we are providing a summary study with additional resources in the Going Deeper section. Please choose the questions that relate best to your particular group.

Starter: In your experience, why do people not believe in hell?

Engage and Connect

  • Read Revelation 20:11-15.
  • Please describe how you think it would feel to stand before God and hear all the choices of a person’s life laid out.  Do think the good choices outnumber the bad or do the bad outnumber the good?   How will that feel?
  • How would it feel to hear your name called out from the Book of Life – the book that records those who embraced Jesus’s offer of forgiveness and adoption?
  • Read Galatians 5:19-21.
  • If there was a realm of reality that was like this passage, what part would be attractive to you?  What part would you dislike?
  • Have you ever known someone with an addiction?  Did their addiction mimic the chaos of hell?
  • Do you know a self-centered person?  Now imagine a realm where everyone is self-centered.  Hell has only self-centered people.  What would that feel like?
  • How would you lay before a person the choice of heaven or hell?  How would you help them see the trajectory of their lives?

Prayer:  Father, first increase my desire to be with you now and forever.  Second, give me a heart like Jesus.  Finally, give me courage to help people know they have a choice to be with you or not.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
